Scientist, Polymer Chemistry
ZymoChem is seeking a Polymer Chemistry Scientist to immediately join and contribute to our company’s R&D efforts for the production of bio-based products. This Scientist will be part of the team leading the development of biopolymer materials. Responsibilities for this position will include  developing chemistries and processing methods for the production of biopolymer materials;  characterizing biopolymer materials with analytical techniques such as SEC, FTIR, and SEM; and  benchmarking performance of the biopolymer materials using established tests.

PhD or MS in chemical engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline
0-1 years (PhD) or 2+ years (MS) post-degree research experience with an academic lab or industrial research group
Expertise in polymer synthesis, polymer processing, and product development
Experience with analytical techniques for polymer characterization
Self-starter with sound organizational skills and general communication skills
Must be authorized to work in the United States
Other Relevant Qualifications
Experience in scaling up polymer production is a plus
Experience working with bio-based polymers or water-soluble polymers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Past work in an industrial setting or startup research setting is a plus
